Ranthambore Hotels

Surrounded by sensuous Aravalli Hills and Vindhyas, the National Park is one of the well known addresses of the prime objective of Project Tiger initiated in 1973. The dense wisphering dry deciduous forests dotted with dhok trees embracing the ruins of ancient Ranthambore Fort, once reverberated with the cry of innocent creatures, as they served as the regular hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur. What began with the aim of preserving the game in these dense woods solely for the purpose of sport , took the shape of a game sanctuary in 1955, then metamorphosed into a sanctuary of wild animals and birds in 1971. It became one of the chosen venues for Project Tiger in 1973 and finally received the status of National Park in 1981.
